Lions’ Jared Goff to Launch Partnership with Local Nonprofit on ‘Hard Knocks’

In the first three episodes of this year’s “Hard Knocks,” Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has been overshadowed.

He was in a few music videos but was never a focal point. That will change during tonight’s episode, highlighting Goff’s recent work in the Detroit community. Goff’s brand, “J16,” has partnered with local organization FATE Detroit for a capsule collection of wearables to benefit the nonprofit’s youth scholarship fund.

“This year, I partnered my brand, JG16, with Merit to design and sell high-quality products that help kids get to college,” Goff said in a statement. “I will match 100% of sales, dollar for dollar, and the proceeds will be used to help fund Merit’s nonprofit work in Detroit, specifically providing college scholarships for young people. »

Clothing in the collection will include hats, hoodies and t-shirts. Episode 4 of Hard Knocks, which airs Tuesday at 10 p.m. on HBO, will not only shed light on the partnership, but will also feature Goff and four FATE cohorts working on the collaboration and design. Several items, such as hats and t-shirts, will feature the “Detroit Grit” wordmark, a phrase that has recently become popular with Lions fans.
