I am not a bigwig CEO and will not speak on panels. Is there a schedule for me?
Absolutely! The festival offers programming to celebrate young, upcoming creators as well as competitions such as the Young Lions Competition.
The Young Lions competition is open to all creatives under the age of 31 and includes seven categories across Design, Digital, Film, Marketing, Media, PR and Print, as well as Future Lions Contest. For each category, participants are given a brief to complete and execute, with general guidelines to enable a range of creative outcomes. To allow more people to participate, the competition will be held virtually this year before the festival, and participants have the opportunity to attend the festival at a reduced rate.
The Future Lions, a program created with AKQA, is slightly different, specifying participants aged 18 to 25 or in a full-time educational program if older. Made in teams, the four finalists will attend the Cannes Film Festival, where the winner will be crowned and given the opportunity to execute their idea in reality. This year’s competition is about creating work for Gymshark.
Outside of Future Lions, Young Lions competitions are determined by non-profit organizations, from the UN to Greenpeace to Amnesty International, and encourage ideas that benefit social and environmental causes.
