“Where can you see lions on your lunch break?” – Over 100 jobs on offer at Chester Zoo

There are over 100 seasonal jobs available at Chester Zoo as job seekers are encouraged to come to the zoo anytime before 8pm today (April 27) to speak to staff. The zoo is hosting its first job fair and over 500 people have already expressed interest online, so there’s something for everyone.

Jobs include meeting and hosting, visitor registration and operating some of the attractions. Catering staff are required to serve customers, handle cash, prepare food and beverages, clean units, and replenish inventory at fast food restaurants and the gastropub.

Retail Assistants are needed to work in one of the gift shops, in the warehouse, or to fulfill orders from the online store for the zoo. They also need “retail artists” who are creative or have some artistic talent, including face painting, and enjoy interacting with children.

Chester Zoo offers flexible working ranging from eight to 40 hours per week, relaxed and informal sessions will take place at the Bembe Cafe at the main entrance to the zoo.

“There aren’t many places in the world where you can explore a 128-acre zoo and be surrounded by 20,000 incredible animals every day. Where else can you see giraffes, lions and penguins on your lunch break? ?”

Successful applicants will receive a free staff pass and, upon completion of their seasonal contract, will receive a series of free tickets for their friends and family to enjoy. Chester Zoo is a registered conservation and education body, home to over 20,000 animals made up of nearly 600 different species, many of which are endangered in the wild.
