Moneta Lions Club Hosts Fundraiser for LOVF | Local News

Moneta Lions Club members recently held their last fundraiser for the fiscal year, in support of Multiple District 24’s Loins of Virginia Foundation (LOVF).

The members gave away two of their Saturdays by selling raffle tickets for LOVF.

The Moneta Lions thanked the owners and managers of Red Rock Store, 16463 Moneta Road, Moneta, and White House Corner Store, 11674 Smith Mountain Lake Parkway, Huddleston, for allowing their storefronts to be used for this project.

“A big thank you also to all their friends, neighbors and the general public for their generous support,” said the Moneta Lions Club.

In 1972, Multiple District 24, Lions of Virginia, took a giant leap forward in promoting and providing statewide emergency relief and humanitarian efforts for better service through the establishment of Lions of Virginia Foundation Inc., a public 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. – exempt company.

The Virginia Lions have agreed that this approach is the most appropriate means for statewide Lionist humanitarian accomplishments. They knew the foundation would be a vehicle for all Lions, Lioness and Leo clubs in the state of Virginia to come together and respond immediately to emergencies.

The foundation, from its inception, has focused its primary areas of involvement in disaster relief, sight and hearing protection, and other areas of interest to Lions Clubs International.

The Moneta Lions Club meets on the first and third Thursday of each month. For more information about the club or to participate in one of its meetings or community projects, contact Lion Bart Matthies at 540-297-4549, or email
