Matthew Stafford winks at Lions fans in new ad
In a national TV ad for AT&T, Stafford talks about trading your old stuff for new, much like the Lions did with him.

The video ad also features longtime AT&T spokeswoman “Lily,” played by Milana Vayntraub, who also directed the ads.
In the 30-second spot, Lily asks Stafford, playing a cell phone customer at her AT&T store, if he’d like to trade in his old Samsun Galaxy for a new one.
Stafford replies, “Oh, I get it, so you can take your old phone that you’ve had for twelve years and loved every minute of it, and swap it out for something new that suits your life now?”

When Lily confirms that’s how the deal works, Stafford replies, “And enjoy immediate success, even though you’ll never forget your old phone? EVER,” in an obvious tip of the hat to his loyal fans. Lions.
If you don’t know, Stafford was traded from Detroit to the Los Angeles Rams last season and then went on to win the Super Bowl with his new team.
“That’s a great trade,” Lily replies, as if speaking for the Los Angeles Rams fans.
“Life changes,” Matthew says, winking at the camera.
The ad aired non-stop during March Madness coverage on CBS and its affiliates. He ran way too much in Thursday’s game at Michigan.
The obvious nod to Lions fans prompted an immediate reaction on Twitter.
