Go ahead, Detroit Lions fans, dream big. Maybe that’s finally it

I know. Looks like I’m drinking Kool-Aid right next to you. But if you don’t have hope right now, during the NFL Draft, then what’s the point of even being a fan of the team? Great players are drafted every year. Players who turn out to be busts are drafted each year. But you know, when you watch the Super Bowl, somebody drafted or signed those players. I don’t need to remind you that the Super Bowl-winning quarterback this year was drafted by the Lions. Unfortunately, they didn’t sign enough good players to surround him, but that’s not the point of this story.

The people who lead and coach the Lions are neither William Clay Ford, nor Matt Millen, nor people who fill in the blanks. What if (Lions general manager) Brad Holmes really knew what he was doing. What if Dan Campbell was the Mike Ditka of this generation?

Sure, it’s a roll of the dice, but maybe Aidan Hutchinson becomes the expert beast he will be. And Jameson Williams is recovering from his ACL and is this the second coming of Calvin Johnson?

If you’re a young Lions fan, you might not remember that the mid-’90s Lions weren’t doormats. Maybe a few more stallions and they would have been a team for ages.

Sports is the biggest reality show there is. Maybe the scenario will turn for the Lions.
